Celebrating 20 Years of Warmth: Steve’s Coats for Kids and Dash Courier’s Sponsorship

As we embrace the festive season, seeing the community come together for a cause that touches lives is heartwarming. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Steve’s Coats for Kids. This cherished initiative has been keeping children warm through the generosity of donors giving new or gently used coats to those in need. In the heart of Charlotte, the event, celebrated this year from November 1st through December 31st, has become a beacon of hope and kindness.

What makes this event particularly special for us is the involvement of the Dash Courier team. As a proud sponsor, we have been handling the transportation of coats at no charge. This ensures that every coat donated makes its way to a child in need efficiently and with care.

The 20th anniversary was commemorated with a record turnout at the WSOC-TV studios. Donors had the opportunity to meet Steve Udelson and other on-air personalities, contributing to the festive and communal spirit of the event. The first 100 donors were even rewarded with tickets to Cirque Du Soleil’s “Bazzar,” adding an extra layer of excitement to the day.

The city of Charlotte joined in the celebration, with lights in Uptown Charlotte shining in blue and yellow to honor this milestone. Additionally, the day was proclaimed as Steve’s Coats for Kids Day in Charlotte, further acknowledging the impact of this initiative over the past two decades.

As we reflect on the 20 years of Steve’s Coats for Kids, it’s impossible not to appreciate the people of Charlotte. Their support and commitment to the community and to causes that make a difference is a reminder of the power of collaboration and goodwill. Here’s to many more years of keeping children warm and spreading joy in the community!
